

Trinidad State Park is located about three miles west of Trinidad on Highway 12. The campground is located on a ridge above and to the north of Trinidad Lake. Carpios Ridge has 62 campsites for individual/family camping. The Piedmont Group camping area will accommodate up to 60 people and is located at the east end of the lake. The Carpios Ridge Campground can accommodate recreational vehicles, trailers or tents. Modern facilities include centrally-located water hydrants, electrical hook-ups (sites 1-6, 9-11,13, 19-25, 27-35, and 37-59), and a shower house facility containing a coin-operated laundry, showers, and flush toilets. The shower house facility is open between May 1st and October 15th. The campground is situated in a grove of scattered juniper, pinion pine, and planted deciduous trees at an elevation of about 6,300 feet. Roads through the campground are paved and privacy is marginal. Some of the sites have great views of the lake.
The Piedmont Group Camping Area is located near the east end of Trindad Lake. Reservations can be made by calling the park at 719-846-6951.
The campground is open year round. Reservations are accepted.

Activities:
HIKING: There are 6 trails totaling about 10 miles around the lake.
BOATING: Visitors can enjoy water-skiing, windsurfing, boat fishing and jet-skiing.
WILDLIFE VIEWING: There is a watchable wildlife area in Long’s Canyon.
Exit I-25 on Colorado 119 west, then north on County Road 7 until it ends into County Road 24 1/2. Turn right to the park entrance.
