BoydLakeState Park is located about a mile east of Loveland. There is one campground in the park. The Cottonwood Campground is located near the southwest shore of the lake at an elevation of 4,990 feet. It is situated on a grassy knoll with scattered small to medium sized trees. There are 148 pull-through campsites organized into seven loops (A – F). All sites have a picnic table, fire grate, and electrical hookups. Sites 47, 76, 97, and 131 are disabled accessible. There are three restrooms (flush toilets) with showers and playground equipment and horseshoe pits are scattered throughout the campground. Each loop has at least two water hydrants.
Cottonwood Campground is not right on the lake but just a short walk away. The roads through the campground are paved. The sparse vegetation makes for little privacy. The campground is open year round (not all sites) and is especially popular during the summer months. Reservations are accepted.

Activities:
SWIMMING: There is a swim beach just north of the campground.
FISHING: Fishing for both warm and cold water fishing is available in the lake.
HIKING: The Loveland Recreation Trail runs by the campground.
BIKING: The Loveland Recreation Trail provides over 10 miles of biking opportunity.
PICNICING: There are numerous picnic sites scattered through out the park.
Take Highway 34 west from I-25 to Madison Avenue (about 2.5 miles). Turn right (north) follow Madison Avenue / County Road 11C for about 1.5 miles to BoydLakeState Park. Turn right after passing through the park entrance to the campground.
