Glacier Basin Campground
     

      The Glacier Basin Campground is located in Rocky Mountain National Park in Glacier Basin just south of Bear Lake Road . The elevation here is 8,600 feet. This campground has 150 campsites accommodating tents and RVs. The campground is located in a dense stand of lodgepole pine next to a large meadow. The campsites are arranged in four loops and there is a large area reserved for groups. The group area will accommodate tents only. A paved road travels through the campground with mostly back-in sites and a few pull-throughs. The Bear Lake Shuttle bus stops at the campground. Facilities include bathrooms with flush toilets, sinks, and electrical outlets, picnic tables, fire grates,, water faucets, an amphitheater, and a dump station. Campsites 33, 60, and 61 on loop B are disabled accessible. Deer and elk can often be seen near the campground and fishing is available in the nearby Sprague Lake and Glacier Creek. This is a popular campground and reservations are required. Camping is permitted from late May through early September.

FISHING: Fishing for trout is available in streams and lakes in the Park.

HIKING: The Glacier Creek Trail travels along side the campground.

HORSEBACK RIDING : Commercial stables are located nearby.

WILDLIFE VIEWING : There is an abundance of wildlife for your viewing pleasure.

SIGHT SEEING: A shuttle bus is available to take you to Bear Lake.

From EstesPark, take Highway 36 to the Beaver Meadows entrance. Turn left at the Bear Lake Road, first road after entering the Park, and travel about five miles to the Glacier Basin Campground Road. Turn left and follow the road to the campground.
