North Crestone Campground
     

      The North Crestone Campground is located about 1.2 miles north of the town of Crestone at an elevation of 8,300 feet. This campground has 13 campsites most suitable for tent camping or truck campers. The campground is situated in North Crestone Canyon along North Crestone Creek. Shade is provided by the narrow canyon walls and numerous species of trees and shrubs. Privacy is excellent. Facilities include three vault toilets and a hand-pumped water hydrant. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire grate. Reservations are not accepted. During the summer, the site receives heavy use on the weekends and holidays. Open June through October.

FISHING: Fishing is available in North Crestone Creek and North Crestone Lake .


HIKING: Hiking is available on the North Crestone, South Crestone , and Willow Lake trails.

WILDLIFE VIEWING : There is an abundance of wildlife for your viewing pleasure.

Directions:
     
From Alamosa travel north on Highway 17 for 37 miles to Moffat. Turn east on County Road T and travel to its end (13 miles) at Crestone. Follow Alder St. north for 1.2 miles to the campground.
