Springer Gulch Campground
     

      The Springer Gulch Campground is located about 6.5 miles southwest of the town of Lake George at an elevation of 8,300 feet. This campground is located inside of Elevenmile Canyon about a third of a mile up Springer Gulch. There are 15 campsites in this campground. Twelve of these are situated around a small loop at the end of a dirt road. The other three are just beyond the South Platte River . This campground is most suitable for tent camping but could accommodate a few small RVs. The lower campsites have no shade but the sites around the loop are shaded by ponderosa pine. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire grate. Campground facilities include two vault toilets (one at each end of the road) and a water hydrant. Reservations are accepted for Springer Gulch Campground. A daily entrance fee is required for Elevenmile Canyon. Open May through October.

FISHING: Fishing is available in the South Platt River, Eleven Mile Reservoir, and Spinney Mountain Reservoir.

HIKING: Hiking is available on Forest Service roads.

BIKING: Biking is available on Forest Service roads.

BOATING: Boating is available on Eleven Mile Reservoir.

Directions:
     
Take County Road 96 south from Lake George 6.5 miles into Elevenmile Canyon . The campground is on the right side of the road just after crossing the river.
