South Side Campground

The South Side Campground is located near the south end of Lake Isabel about 40 miles southwest of Pueblo. The elevation here is 8,800 feet. This small campground has eight campsites suitable for RVs up to 30 feet long. Anything longer than that would not be able to maneuver in this narrow campground. The campsites are side by side pull-throughs with elevated islands between them. Each island contains a picnic table and fire grate. The paved road through the campground is a small oval with the pull-through sites in the center. Dense vegetation consisting of aspen, lodgepole pine, and spruce surrounds the oval. A few spruce trees are located on some of the islands. There is one vault toilet and one water hydrant. This campground has no hookups for RVs. Five of the campsites are reservable and three are available on a first come / first serve basis. During the summer, the campground receives heavy use on the weekends and holidays. An entrance fee is charged for the Lake Isabel Recreation Area. Bears may frequent this campground so food precautions should be taken. Reservations are accepted. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.
