Riverside Campground
     

      The Riverside Campground is located about two miles southwest of the town of Lake George at an elevation of 8,000 feet. This campground is located inside of Elevenmile Canyon across the road from the South Platte River. Most of the campground is situated in a large grassy meadow. There are eight sites that will accommodate small RVs and eleven walk-in tent sites. Most of the campsites have little or no shade. Only walk-in tent sites 14 – 19 have decent shade. Facilities at this campground include a vault toilet, two water hydrants, and trash dumpsters. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire grate. Riverside campground is popular with bears. Make sure you keep food items out of their reach. The South Platte River is within a short distance for campers interested in fishing. Reservations are accepted for this campground. A daily entrance fee is required for Elevenmile Canyon. Open May through October.

FISHING: Fishing is available in the South Platt River, Eleven Mile Reservoir, and Spinney Mountain Reservoir.

HIKING: Hiking is available on Forest Service roads.

BIKING: Biking is available on Forest Service roads.

BOATING: Boating is available on Eleven Mile Reservoir.

Take County Road 96 south from Lake George 2.5 miles into Elevenmile Canyon . The campground is on the left side of the road.
