Meadows Group Campground
     

      The Meadows Group Campground is located approximately 10 miles southwest of the small town of Buffalo Creek at an elevation of 7,520 feet. There are group camping areas situated in large meadows with scattered lodgepole pine trees around the edges. Each camping area has a vault toilet and drinking water. A large fire ring surrounded by picnic tables is also provided. There are parking areas for each group site. Campers can pitch their tents in the grassy meadows. Up to 150 people are permitted at each group site. Reservations are accepted. Open May through early September.

Activities:
HIKING: The Colorado Trail runs through the area offering hiking opportunities.

BIKING: Thirty miles of trails are available in the Buffalo Creek mountain bike area.

WILDLIFE VIEWING: Wildlife Viewing: There is an abundance of wildlife for your viewing pleasure.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 285 to Pine Junction. Turn south on Highway 126 and follow it to the town of Buffalo Creek . Follow 126 approximately 3.5 miles south to the intersection of Forest Road (FR) 550. Turn right onto FR 550 and travel five miles to its junction with FR 543. Turn left and travel about a half mile to the campground.
