

The Handcart Campground is located about 7.5 miles west of Grant at an elevation of 9,800 feet. This campground has 10 campsites that are suitable for tents only. Tent areas are not well defined but there are plenty of flat areas. The campsites are all walk-in tent sites with two parking areas. There is one vault toilet and a water hydrant. This campground is located in a dense stand of spruce trees offering good shade and privacy. Some sites are near a small creek. This creek has been polluted by mining and contains no fish. The road through the campground is dirt. The road to the campground can be rough in spots. Reservations are not accepted for sites in this campground. Open late May through September.

Directions:
Take Highway 285 west from Grant for about 3.5 miles to County Road 60. Turn west on County Road 60 and travel about 4 miles to the campground.
