Green Mountain Campground
     

      The Green Mountain Campground is located approximately 10 miles southwest of the small town of Buffalo Creek at an elevation of 7,600 feet. There are six tent-only campsites situated on both sides of the South Fork Buffalo Creek. The campsites are well shaded with large spruce trees and privacy is very good. Areas for pitching your tent are level. There is a vault toilet and water hydrant in the campground. The Buffalo Creek mountain bike area offers cyclists 30+ miles of trail riding. The Colorado Trail runs through the area and allows hikers access to the trail in several locations. This is a great campground for tent camping. Reservations are not accepted for sites in this campground. Open late May through early September.

HIKING: The Colorado Trail runs through the area offering hiking opportunities.

BIKING: Thirty miles of trails are available in the Buffalo Creek mountain bike area.

WILDLIFE VIEWING : There is an abundance of wildlife for your viewing pleasure.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 285 to Pine Junction. Turn south on Highway 126 and follow it to the town of Buffalo Creek . Follow 126 approximately 3 miles south to the intersection of Forest Road (FR) 550. Turn right onto FR 550 and travel five miles to its junction with FR 543. Turn left and travel about 1.5 miles to the campground.
