Flat Rocks Campground
     

      The Flat Rocks Campground is located in the Rampart Motorized Recreation Area, about 15 miles southwest of Sedalia . It is situated about a quarter mile west of the Rampart Range Road on a dirt road leading downhill from the main road. There are 19 campsites arranged on both sides of the dirt road. The parking spurs are large enough to accommodate most RVs. There are two vault toilets and three water hydrants. There is a large turnaround loop at the end of the campground. There is easy access to over 100 miles of motorized trails from the campground. Tent sites are not well marked and often not very level. At 8,200 feet, there is adequate shade provided by lodgepole pine trees. Reservations are not accepted for sites in this campground. Open May through early September.

Activities:
HIKING: There are several trails and roads suitable for hiking.

BIKING: Trails and forest roads are easily accessible from the campground.

OFF-HIGHWAY RIDING : Numerous trails for OHV riding are located in the area.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 85 northwest from Castle Rock to Sedalia . Head southwest on Highway 67 for 10 miles to the Rampart Range Road (FR 300). Travel about five miles to the campground.
