Cove Campground
     

      The Cove Campground is located about nine miles southwest of the town of Lake George at an elevation of 8,450 feet. This small campground is located inside of Elevenmile Canyon on the South Platte River. There are four campsites in this campground. These sites are most suitable for tent camping. A truck or van camper could be accommodated. There is very little shade for these campsites. All of the campsites are located a short distance from the South Platte River and are quite close to each other. Campground facilities include a vault toilet and a water hydrant. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire grate. Reservations are accepted for Cove campsites. A daily entrance fee is required for Elevenmile Canyon. Open May through October.

FISHING: Fishing is available in the South Platt River, Eleven Mile Reservoir, and Spinney Mountain Reservoir.

HIKING: Hiking is available on Forest Service roads.

BIKING: Biking is available on Forest Service roads.

BOATING: Boating is available on Eleven Mile Reservoir.

Directions:
     
Take County Road 96 south from Lake George for nine miles into Elevenmile Canyon . The campground is on the right side of the road just after crossing the river. The campsites are a short distance up a dirt road along the river.
