Burning Bear Campground
     

      The Burning Bear Campground is located approximately 5.5 miles northwest of the small town of Grant, Colorado on County Road 62 (Guanella Pass Scenic Byway). It consists of 13 individual family campsites situated around a single loop. The elevation here is about 9,500 feet. The campsites each include a table, fire ring and parking spur. The campground facilities include vault toilets. Drinking water is not available. The campground is fairly open under a canopy of ponderosa pines. The terrain is shaped like an amphitheater and amplifies any noise present. Campsites are more suitable for tents or truck and van campers. Reservations are not accepted for sites in this campground. Open May through September.

Activities:
FISHING: Numerous streams and lakes are located in the area.

HIKING: There are numerous trails leading into the Mt Evans Wilderness nearby.

BIKING: Trails and forest roads are easily accessible from the campground.

SCENIC DRIVING : Take the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway for a great scenic drive.

Take Highway 285 to Grant. Turn north on County Road 62 and travel about 5 miles to the campground.
