Willow Creek Campground is located about 9 miles north and west of Granby at an elevation of 8,130 feet. The campground is situated in a large open sage and grassy area bordered on the south by lodgepole pine and aspen and on the north by Willow Creek Reservoir. There are 33 family camp units, one group site that accommodates up to 20 people. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 40 feet. Many of the sites are in the open area with some wooded sites located along the southern edge. Each site has a picnic table, fire grate, cooler platform, lantern hooks, and a food locker. The food lockers are provided as protection from bears that frequent the area. The trees provide adequate shade and privacy for most of the campsites. Campsites 2, 6, and 32 are double sites.
The roads through the campground are gravel. The layout is oval shaped with a road bisecting the oval. The road leading into the campground crosses a narrow bridge across the spillway of Willow Creek Reservoir. The left hand turn is very tight for RVs. A boat launching area lies just east of the campground. There are four water hydrants and three restrooms. None of the restrooms will accommodate disabled persons. Reservations are only accepted for group site in this campground. The season for this campground normally runs from Memorial Day through mid-October, depending on the weather. This campground frequently fills on weekends during the camping season. Check with the Forest Service for the current fees. You must have an Arapaho National Recreation Area permit also.
