West Lake Campground
     

     West Lake Campground is located about 24 miles west of Highway 287 on the Red Feather Lakes Road at an elevation of 8,226 feet. The campground is situated in a large open stand of ponderosa pine and sagebrush on the south shore of West Lake. There are 35 sites in the campground. All of the campsites are suitable for RV camping. Sites 6-36 have electricity. Campsites offer views of the lake or the mountains to the south. Some offer views of both. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 50 feet.
     The roads through the campground are packed dirt/gravel. There are three water hydrants and three restrooms. One of the restrooms will accommodate disabled persons. Reservations are accepted and can be made 5 - 240 days in advance. The season for this campground normally runs from mid May through September, depending on the weather. Check with the Forest Service for the current fees.

Activities:
FISHING: Fishing for trout is available in Dowdy, West, and Parvin Lakes.

HIKING: Hiking is available on nearby Mount Margaret and Molly Lake trails.

BICYCLING: Bicycling is available on several jeep roads and on the Mount Margaret Trail.

Directions:
     Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on 287 north to Livermore. Turn west on 74E for 24 miles to the campground. The campground is on the right side of the highway.
