Tunnel Campground
     

     Tunnel Campground is located approximately six miles north of highway 14 on the Laramie River Road. The campground is situated around the east and west branches of the Laramie River at an elevation of 8,600 feet. The area is well wooded with lodgepole pine and aspen. There are 49 campsites in the campground, all of which are suitable of RVs. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum recommended vehicle length is forty feet. The road surface in the campground is dirt.
     The are four restrooms and one water hydrant in the campground. None of the restrooms offer disabled access. All campsites are available on a first come first serve basis. No reservations can be made. The camping season for this campground normally runs from June to October, depending on the weather.

Activities:
FISHING: Fishing for trout is available in the east and west branches of the Laramie river near the campground. There are also lakes within the adjacent Rawah wilderness.

HIKING: Hiking is available in the nearby Rawah Wilderness. A trail from the west edge of the campground connects with the West Branch Trail leading into the wilderness.

BICYCLING: Bicycling along the Laramie River Road offers opportunities for seeing deer, elk, and moose as well as beautiful scenery.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 50 miles to the Laramie River Road. Turn right and travel 6.2 miles to the campground. The campground is on the left side of the road.
