Sugarloaf Campground
     

     The Sugar Loaf Campground is located about 27 miles northeast of Silverthorn at an elevation of 8,970 feet. The campground is situated in a stand of spruce and lodgepole pines near the Williams Fork River. There are 11 sites in the campground. All of the sites are suitable for RV camping. The campsites are well wooded and offer ample privacy. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 23 feet.
     The roads through the campground are gravel. There is one water hydrant and one restroom. The restroom will accommodate disabled persons. Wheelchair accessible trails are available within the campground. Reservations are not accepted for campsites in this campground. The season for this campground normally runs from Memorial Day through September, depending on the weather.

Activities:
FISHING: Fishing for trout is available in the South Fork of the Williams Fork River, and Williams Fork River.

HIKING: Hiking is available on trails within the campground (wheelchair accessible) and on the nearby South Fork, Boardwalk, and Ute Peak trails.

BICYCLING: Mountain bikes are permitted on the South Fork Trail.

Directions:
     
Take I-70 to Silverthorn. Travel north on SR 9 for approximately 12 miles to Forest Road 132. Turn right on 132 and go over Ute Pass to Forest Road 138 (about 9 miles). Turn right and travel about 5.5 miles to the campground. You will turn right and go under some railroad tracks just before you get to the South Fork campground. Sugar Loaf campground is .3 miles beyond South Fork on the right side of the road.
