Stove Prairie Campground
     

     Stove Prairie Campground is located about 15 miles west of Highway 287 on Highway 14 at an elevation of 6,000 feet. The campground is situated in an open area with ponderosa pine and aspen along the Cache La Poudre River. There are nine sites in the campground. Five are suitable for RV camping and four are more suitable for tents. The RV sites are in the open area while the tent sites are in the trees. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 30 feet. All but one site have direct access to the river.
     The roads through the campground are paved. There is one water hydrant and one disabled accessible restroom. Disabled van parking and wheelchair accessible trails are available in the campground. Reservations are not accepted for campsites in this campground.
This campground is open from May through October. Check with the Forest Service for the current fees.

Activities:
FISHING: Fishing is good for trout in the Cache La Poudre river that runs along side of the campground.

HIKING: Hiking is available at Young Gulch (2 miles east on Highway 14) or Grey Rock (6.3 miles to the east on Highway 14).

BICYCLING: Mountain biking is available at Young Gulch (2 miles east on Highway 14), Hewlett Gulch (6 miles to the east) and Stove Prairie Road.

SIGHT SEEING: Take the Poudre Canyon highway for a great scenic drive.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 15 miles to the campground. The campground is on the right side of the highway.
