Pickle Gulch Group Campground
     

     The Pickle Gulch Group Campground is located about three miles north of Blackhawk at an elevation of 9,100 feet. The campground is situated in a large lodgepole pine grove. There are six walk-in group camping sites in the campground. Two large parking areas are available to accommodate vehicles. Sites 1 through 5 will handle up to 30 campers while site 6 will accommodate up to 15. An amphitheater is available for group meetings or programs.
     The roads through the campground are gravel. There are four water hydrants and four restrooms. All of the restrooms will accommodate disabled persons. Reservations are mandatory and can be made 5 - 240 days in advance. The season for this campground normally runs from late May through September, depending on the weather. Check with the Forest Service for the current fees.

Activities:
BICYCLING: Nearby jeep roads offer ample opportunity for mountain bike riding.

SIGHT SEEING: Take the peak to peak highway for a great scenic drive. For those who like to gamble, the casinos of Blackhawk and Central City are just 3 miles away.

Directions:
     
Take SR 119 west from Boulder to Nederland. Travel south approximately 13 miles to the turnoff. Turn right and travel about .7 miles. The campground is located on the left side of the highway. Alternatively take US 6 to Golden and SR 119 to Blackhawk. Travel approximately two miles north on 119 to the turnoff. Turn left to get to the campground.
