Cold Springs Campground
     

     Cold Springs Campground is located about four miles north of Blackhawk on Highway 119 at an elevation of 9,200 feet. The campground is situated in an area of lodgepole pine and aspen trees. There are 38 sites in the campground. Thirty five are suitable for RV camping and 3 are more suitable for tents. Sites 1 - 5 are pull offs with wooden retaining walls. You must climb steps to reach the picnic tables and tent pads. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 50 feet.
     The roads through the campground are gravel. There are 4 water hydrants and 4 restrooms. Two of the restrooms will accommodate disabled persons. There is a playground and a picnic area for day use. Reservations are accepted and can be made 5 - 240 days in advance. The season for this campground normally runs from mid May through mid September, depending on the weather. Check with the Forest Service for the current fees.

Activities:
SIGHT SEEING: Take the peak to peak highway for a great scenic drive. For those who like to gamble, the casinos of Blackhawk and Central City are just 5 miles away.

BICYCLING: Mountain biking is available in the area.

Directions:
     Take SR 119 west from Boulder to Nederland. Travel south approximately 11 miles to the campground. The campground is located on the right side of the highway. Alternatively take US 6 to Golden and SR 119 to Blackhawk. Travel approximately four miles north on 119 to the campground.
