Big Bend Campground
     

     Big Bend Campground is located about 39 miles west of Highway 287 on Highway 14 at an elevation of 7,700 feet. The campground is situated near a large open meadow along the Cache La Poudre River. There is a Bighorn sheep viewing station in the meadow. There are nine sites in the campground. Six are suitable for RV camping and three are more suitable for tents. Most of the sites are wooded and located along the Poudre River. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 20 feet.
     The roads through the campground are gravel. There is one water hydrant and one restroom. The restroom will accommodate disabled persons. Reservations are not accepted for this campground. This campground is open year round. Check with the Forest Service for the current fees.

Activities:
FISHING: Fishing for trout is available in Cache La Powder River next to the campground.

HIKING: Hiking is available on the nearby Roaring Creek trail located a short distance west of the campground on Highway 14.

WILDLIFE VIEWING: There is a wildlife viewing station in the meadow next to the campground. Bighorn sheep are often seen.

SIGHT SEEING: Take the Poudre Canyon highway for a great scenic drive.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 39 miles to the campground. The campground is on the left side of the highway.
