The Pinewood Campground is located southwest of Loveland along the east shore of Pinewood Lake . The elevation is about 6,550 feet. There are 28 campsites in this campground. The campground is divided into two sections. The Windy Pines section is on a hill in the north end of the campground. This section contains 13 campsites (including the host site). Most of these sites are walk-in tent sites situated in the ponderosa pines on the top and west side of the hill. The others are out in the open and can accommodate small RVs. The remaining 15 campsites are located below in the boat launch area along the east shoreline. These sites are primarily tent sites located right on the beach. There are two vault toilets and two water hydrants in this campground. None of the campsites has hookups. Two shelters are located in “the launch” section of the campground. One of the sites is wheelchair accessible. The views from this campground are quite lovely. Reservations are accepted and a Larimer County Parks Permit is required.
