Horsetooth Reservoir has two campgrounds situated around south, and southwest shores. The elevation here is about 5,340 feet. These campgrounds will accommodate anything from tents to large RVs. There are 111 campsites spread between two campgrounds. These campgrounds include: Inlet Bay and South Bay campgrounds. Most of the campsites offer pull through parking and have good views of the reservoir. The main activities here are boating and fishing. Reservations are accepted and a Larimer County Parks Permit is required. These campgrounds are very popular and often fill most weekends.
The Inlet Bay campground is split into two sections. Fifty three campsites are located along the shore, both north and south of the marina. The south section is accessed by a gravel road just past the entrance station. Twenty six pull-through sites are closely spaced along the shore of Inlet Bay . All but two of these sites are between the road and the reservoir. Trees are sparse except at the south end. The north section is located north of the marina. Campsites are located on both sides of a gravel road along the shore. Most of the sites are pull-through with four sites being back-in. Most campsites will accommodate medium to large RVs. This campground has four vault toilets and six water hydrants.
